ASIAN FOOTBALL AWARDS 2013 – LAUNCH RECEPTION

Bigday Photography are honoured to be on board as event photographers for the Asian Football Awards 2013.

Back in March early this year The Houses of Parliament saw a number of high-profile guests attend the 2013 launch of the second annual Asian Football Awards in a grand ceremony. The event, hosted by Inventive Sports saw nominations officially open for the awards set to be hosted at Wembley Stadium on 8th October 2013.

Asian Football Awards Founder Baljit Rihal opened proceedings at the Houses of Parliament by saying, “This year’s awards promise to be yet another meaningful statement of intent for the Asians in Football cause. We are proud to be able to bring to you a bigger and better awards ceremony, which aims to honour those that are paving the way for Asians in Football. The football organisations have given us greater support and we aim to leverage this by continuing our quest to showcase Asian role models within the UK football industry.”

The Awards see Goals Soccer Centres as their headline sponsor, along with a strong contingent of supporting football organisations including; The FA, Kick It Out, The PFA, Show Racism The Red Card and Sporting Equals.

The Asian Football Awards (AFA) aim to improve the awareness of the positive impact made by Asians within the UK football industry and to engage with organisations and individuals to help increase participation levels.

The hosts for the Asian Football Awards evening will be BBC Asian Network presenter Noreen Khan and Sky Sports News presenter Dharmesh Sheth, while the judging panel includes representatives from The FA, The PFA and Kick It Out, as well as the chief executive officer of International Airlines Group, Willie Walsh, the BBC Sport presenter Manish Bhasin and Amit Bhatia, the vice-chairman of Queens Park Rangers FC.
